Stranger Things should have been an anthology

I think what really made the last episode of Stranger Things Season 1 so exceptional was how open ended and ambiguous they left that final scene with Will Byers coughing up that gross slug. If Stranger Things was an anthology and focused on different characters and storylines every time that would have made the premise more engaging.
